Quarter-Finals on the Horizon

Miami- Djokovic saved four match points and defeated Dominic Thiem, 6-3, 6-4. The crowd at the Miami Open roared as the players went head to head in one of the most exciting second sets in the tournament. The defending champion will compete against Tomas Berdych in the quarter-finals.

Tomas Berdych defeats Frenchman Richard Gasquet, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Tomas advances to his fourth straight quarter-final and is eyeing his 40th career win Miami. He will go on to compete against Djokovic next. Lucky Loser Horacio Zeballos ends his two-match winning streak against World no. 15 David Goffin, 5-6, 3-6. Goffin is the first Belgian man to reach the quarter-finals in the tournament’s history. He will play Frenchman Gilles Simon in the quarter-finals. Gilles Simon defeated fellow Frenchman Lucas Pouille, 6-0, 6-1. After a win against Serena Williams yesterday, Timea Bacsinszky beats her opponent Simona Halep, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Bacsinszky is the sole Swiss remaining in the tournament after Bencic’s retirement due to a back injury.

If Bacsinszky wins the title she could crack the Top 10 for the second time in her career. Milos Raonic passes Damir Dzumhur, 6-0, 6-3. Raonic continues his path to reach his 15th career ATP masters 1000 quarter-final in a row.
