   • Women’s Freestyle: - 1.50 Kg 2.53 Kg 3.57 Kg 4.62 Kg 5. 68 Kg and 6.76 Kg

In this seventh series we will see how Wrestling Federation of India has a chance of sending at least one wrestler to a maximum of 18 wrestlers in Men’s Freestyle, Greco Roman and Women’s Freestyle categories for the 2020 Olympics.

A total of 288 wrestlers will participate in three different categories. The host nation will be guaranteed one place per gender and they can increase this number by winning quota places in qualification events.

There are three ways in which India can qualify wrestlers in 18 different events across three different categories for the 2020 games.

   • Senior World Wrestling Championship - Indian wrestlers should be among the top six wrestlers in their respective events at this event to get an opportunity to represent India at 2020 Olympics.

   • Asian Qualification tournament – Indian wrestlers get another chance to represent the country at Tokyo Olympics. They have to get a Gold or Silver Medal in order to be part of the Indian Contingent for the 2020 Olympics. In this Continental qualification tournament wrestlers who have already qualified for the Olympics cannot participate in this event.

   • World Qualification Tournament- It is the final chance for the Indian Wrestlers who have not qualified in the above two tournaments to get a ticket for Olympics. In this final qualification tournament also, the wrestlers who have already qualified for the Olympics cannot participate in the event. Any Indian wrestler participating in this event has to get a Gold or silver to get the prestigious opportunity of representing the country at Olympics.

Important Note: - i) India should take part in the 2019 Asian Continental competition in order to get the eligibility to participate in the 2019 World Championship with the same number of athletes per weight category as they did in the continental event.
ii) India should took part in the 2020 Senior Continental Championships to get the eligibility to participate in the Continental Qualification tournament with the same number of athletes per weight category as they did in the continental championship.

All of the three qualification ways will be crucial for our Wrestlers, as it gives them an opportunity to qualify 18 wrestlers in 18 different events. This will not only increase the number of qualified athletes but also increases our chance of getting maximum amount of medals in the Olympics from Wrestling contingent for our country.
