Mairaj had a prior experience of shooting in Rio, which was an advantage for him when he started. He won a silver medal in the World Cup event in 2016. With the disappointing performance from the Indian shooters, a lot of questions are being raised about their efficiency.

So a lot of speculation about his performance. Mairaj started well and hit a perfect 14 out of 14 in the first set and reached to the second position, he ended the first of shots decently with a total of 24. Mairaj dropped to the 11th position in the second set, as other shooters were far more perfect while Mairaj had an accuracy level of 96%.

He had missed a shot in the first set and that cost the shooter. Mairaj improved and finished at 7th position. In the second set Mairaj again slipped to the ninth position. He moved to the 6th position and then to the fifth position as another shooter missed a shot.

Soon Mairaj, like other Indian athletes and shooters could not handle the pressure and was struggling at no. 10 position. Qualification does not seem to be easy for Mairaj tomorrow as he will have to score at least 49 tomorrow and hope many other shooters miss their shots. It seems tough for the Indian shooter now as only top 6 qualify and from here it looks tough.
