Indian women's archery team beats Colombia to enter the quarterfinals of the team event|07-Aug-2016 19:59

Indian Women's Archery Team started their campaign against Colombia. First set went to India in the women’s archery as Bombayla Devi hits 10. India takes early lead. At the end of the first set scores were 1-0 in favour of India.

Deepika Kumari disappointed in the second set and the set went to Colombia, at the end of the second set the scores were leveled 1-1. At the end of the first round Colombia led by 2 points though Deepika Kumari came strongly to hit a 10. India was one point ahead of Colombia at the end of the first round of the fourth set.

Deepika hit a 9 and India finished the fourth set with a score of 52, Sanchez from Colombia could manage only three and they fell behind India. In the end it was Sanchez’s poor hit which helped India to qualify despite their average performance. India easily won the fourth round and they qualified for the quarter finals.

So some good news for India as the Indian archery women's team which consists of Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi Laishram and Laxmirani Majhi made it to the quarterfinals of the women’s archery team event.
