India’s dismal show continued at the Rio 2016 Olympics after its only Judo player Avtar Singh crashed out of the tournament after losing to Popole Misenga. Avtar Singh lost 2-1 and made exit from the tournament. The opponent made the move yukkoo and won the match.

Avtar was the first Indian male judo player who qualified for the Olympics, he had to face lot of financial crisis and due to that he faced a lot of issues before the qualification. Avtar was rather slow to start with and the judges called foul twice as they thought that Avtar was not engaging with the other player sufficiently.

It did not go well with the Indian as in the third minute, Misenga gave a shoulder throw to the Avtar. Avtar Singh crashed out as he already had to suffer two penalty points. The Indian challenge ended with the defeat of Avtar Singh.

Huge disappointment, but anyway we have to congratulate Avtar for working passionately for his dream and reaching at this stage. He will definitely be one of the pioneers of this particular sport in India. Another disappointment for Indian fans who are yet to see their players getting a medal in the Rio games.
