Achievements

  • Harmanpreet was the star once again for India at the Junior Men’s Asia Cup, scoring an astounding 15 goals, including 4 in the final against arch-rivals Pakistan to help his side win the tournament.

 

Biography

He was part of the Indian team to the Champions trophy event in London in 2016. He shot into prominence in the Asia Cup inMalaysia when he played the hero's role in the Indan junior team winning the title, beating Pakistan. Experts believe he is a find for Indian hockey and his drag flick skills are spoken of highly.

 

He honed his hockey skills at the Surjeet Singh Academy in Jalandhar where he joined in 2011. His first big moment came in the Sultan of Johor Cup event in Malaysia as member of the U-21 India side. He scored nine goals in the tournament including a brace in the final which helped clinch the title.

 

The effort earned him the 'player of the tournament'. Later in 2015, Singh played a key role in India's win over Pakistan in the final of the Junior Asia Cup tournaemnt.
