Biography

After starting off with the Salcete FC under-16 team, a renowned nursery for young talents in south Goa, Miranda honed his skills at the Tata Football Academy for four years. Interestingly, he was the only TFA graduate from his batch who signed up for a second division club in 2000, Dempo, whom he helped to gain promotion in 2000-01. There was no looking back thereafter for this Dempo loyalist and talented left winger whose mazy runs and pin point crosses make him a favourite of the fans. After making his international debut against Pakistan in 2004, the floppy haired player became a regular with the ‘Blue Tigers’ under Bob Houghton and developed into an attacking left half with the ability to dribble and deliver deadly crosses and also score goals. He has played for India right from the under-19 and under-23 levels and won major domestic honours and international titles with the senior team in a long and glittering career. He has taken part in two World Cup qualifiers.
