Cape Town: India's up and coming Abhay Singh moved into the final of the UCT Open 2018, a PSA world series event here on Thursday.

Seeded two in this tournament, this Chennai-based lad started smoothly beating another Indian Guhan Senthilkumar in the first round and then with a fighting performance against seeded Kyle Finch (Eng) made it to the semi-final with a 7-11, 11-1, 11-8, 14-12 win.

In the last four this Indian Squash Academy pupil edged out Stuart Mcgregor (Eng) in straight games 11-9, 14-12, 11-6 to enter the title round. This is the third occasion that Abhay has earned a place in the final in the PSA circuit. In the final he plays the top seed Martin Svec of Czech republic.
