Abhay in Semi-Final

Abhay Singh

Cardiff (Wales): India's Abhay Singh made a strong impression with a convincing 11-8, 11-7, 11-7 win over third seed and local favourite Peter Creed late on Thursday to reach the semi-final of the Rhiwbina Welsh Open, a PSA challenger event here.

Known for his tough rallies and amazing retrieving abilities, the Welsh pair found the Indian a tough nut to crack. Abhay is always a figher and added to that was his steady approach. The Chennai-based player who trains at the Indian Squash Academy, Abhay returned with lot of control and showed shrewd shot selection to totally unsettle the local player.

Abhay is now up against the top seed Richie Fallows of England in the semi-final.
